Simple Olive Tapenade

This is a simple idea that is perfect for summer hosting. A friend made a version that was absolutely delicious and so I tried my own take on it. This Simple Olive Tapenade is easy to make and compliments a variety of hors d’oeuvres. From pita chips to vegetables to baguette with sun-dried tomatoes, this versatile little dish can spruce up the evening with a hit of salty freshness. It even works on sandwiches and pastas. Enjoy!

Serves: 2 cups
Prep time: 5 minutes


1 c pitted kalamata olives
1 c pitted green olives
1 Tbsp capers
1 small clove of garlic, minced
1/2 tsp sriracha (optional)
1 lemon
1/2 c basil


  1. Place all ingredients in a high-speed blender. Blend until a relatively smooth. Add between 1-3 tablespoons of olive oil and pulse a few more times until desired texture is achieved.
  2. Serve with pita, crackers or pumpernickel bread.
