The Green Machine Smoothie is a staple in my house. It’s nutrients-dense, super smooth, and delicious. The combination of whole-food plant-based ingredients such as hemp hearts, kale, avocado and spirulina (a high protein algae powder) delivers powerful nutritional benefits in one tasty drink. 1 ripe banana
1/2 green apple
1/2 ripe avocado
1/2 c frozen mango
2 Medjool dates
2 large leaves of kale
2 Tbsp Hemp hearts
1 tsp spirulina
1 Brazil nut
2 cups water (or coconut water) for blending
Handful of ice cubes
- Throw all of the ingredients into your high speed blender.
- Add water and blend on high for 60 seconds (or use the smoothie option on your blender)
- Add more water or ice for desired consistency, and blend a second time.
The key to getting a light and frothy smoothie is the blending speed and blending time. I blend at the highest speed and for a good 2 minutes. This ensures that the smoothie is super smooth and that nutrients will be easily absorbed.
